Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra Presents: Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2

Led by Elias Grandy, the orchestra teams up with renowned pianist Joseph Moog for a programme that journeys from the intensity of the Romantic era to the lightness of Viennese style.

The centrepiece of the evening is Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2—an expansive work that combines technical brilliance with depth and lyrical warmth. Beginning with its iconic horn introduction, the piece unfolds through rich exchanges between soloist and orchestra, offering both emotional depth and virtuosic display.

Following the interval, Schubert’s Symphony in B minor, known as the “Unfinished,” brings two movements filled with striking contrast—graceful melodies set against an undercurrent of tension, creating music that feels both complete and intriguingly unresolved.

The programme ends with Johann Strauss II’s Sphärenklänge (Music of the Spheres), a radiant waltz that embodies the charm and sophistication of Vienna, providing a joyful and elegant finale.
