Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra: Qatar Premiere of Gershwin's An American in Paris

Conductor Marcus Bosch (two-time Opus Klassik winner), leads the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in a programme of storytelling. The evening opens with Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite, a shimmering fairy-tale score full of magic and menace.

After the interval, Bosch turns to Gershwin with the effervescent AnAmerican in Paris, receiving its Qatar premiere, followed by  Catfish Row, the symphonic suite drawn from “Porgy and Bess”.

Three composers, three worlds; from Russian folklore to the streets of Paris and the American South.
