About the event
Experience an evening devoted to the music of Richard Strauss with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Elias Grandy at Qatar National Convention Centre – Auditorium 3. The concert opens with Strauss’ symphonic tone poem Don Quixote. Celebrated cellist Daniel Müller-Schott joins QPO violist Giovanni Pasini to portray the characters of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, guiding audiences through the knight’s whimsical adventures and moments of poignant reflection.
Following the intermission, the program continues with Strauss’ dramatic tone poem Don Juan, a vibrant work that shifts between brilliance and tragedy. The evening concludes with the elegant Suite from Der Rosenkavalier, where sweeping waltzes and rich orchestral textures bring the concert to a romantic and dazzling finale.
