British Council signs partnership agreement with QNCC to become an IELTS testing venue

British Council Qatar has re-signed its partnership agreement with Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), establishing it as a testing venue for IELTS on paper. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Robert Tripoli, General Manager of Qatar National Convention Centre, and Dr Waseem Kotoub, Country Director of British Council Qatar.


QNCC have been a venue partner with British Council for IELTS testing since 2017 and by re-signing this strategic partnership, the British Council will continue to collaboratively support students from various academic backgrounds in their IELTS test journey.


This momentous initiative aligns with the goals outlined in Qatar's Vision 2030, aiming to equip students with the necessary knowledge and language skills for future employment opportunities, while enhancing their communication abilities as an essential component of the twenty-first-century workforce skill set.

Expressing his enthusiasm on behalf of British Council Qatar, Dr Waseem Kotoub, Country Director, remarked, "The accreditation of Qatar National Convention Centre as a British Council test venue for IELTS on paper testing represents a significant milestone in our mission to support Qatar’s Vision 2030. This partnership underscores the British Council's unwavering commitment to furthering the country's academic landscape."


The IELTS test stands as the world's most widely recognised assessment of English language proficiency for non-native speakers, acknowledged by over 11,000 institutions and universities worldwide. Leading universities both within and outside Qatar recognise the exam's credibility.


IELTS holds the unique distinction of being the sole English language test accepted by all key immigration authorities in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom for visa applications and migration purposes.
